Please join us in Louisville for Spring Motherlodge Live Arts Exchange 2011 March 21-26 and for Motherlodge shows we’ll be presenting during Actor’s Theater’s Locals Weekend on March 11 and 12th. We are very excited to have the opportunity this year to collaborate with ATL and The Humana Festival, which has been a source of energizing live art activity in Louisville every Spring.
We are also thrilled with our lineup of writers, musicians, actors, and artists who will take part in our Louisville Live Arts Exchange at the end of March. Michael Arthur, Craig Wright, Lady Rizo, Adam Rapp, Rebecca Hart and Superwolf are some of the out of towners who will mix it up with Bunny Day and The Mercy Buckets, Graciela Perrone, The Slow Chareston, Tyrone Cotton, The Sirens, and many more Louisville artists tba.

Motherlodge is now accepting submissions for the Spring PopUP Gallery! Click on the Tab “Call For Artists” at the top of the page for entry. Submission will be open until March 16, 2011. The theme this season is “SHELTER”. Motherlodge PopUP Gallery will be open March 24-26, 2011, part of the Motherlodge Live Arts Exchange–Spring 2011, at the Rudyard Kipling, Louisville.

January 18 at Cakeshop: Motherlodge presents a Round Robin hosted by Alanna Fugate and Little Silver, with The Bandana Splits, Tyrone Cotton, Scott Mertz, Dan Hardin, Night Court, and more. Motherlodge winds down it’s NYC weekend at Cakeshop on Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side. Cover $8.

Motherlodge at Goodbye Blue Monday – Sunday, January 16th
Motherlodge presents A People’s Garden Sundown Sunday
During the warm months of the year, The People’s Garden in Bushwick hosts a jam/hootenanny on Sundays at the corner of Greene and Broadway. On the eve of the biggest event in Motherlodge’s 2 year history, Motherlodge will host an indoor Sundown Sunday at Goodbye Blue Monday in Bushwick. The mics will be on for a night of music and performance by People’s Garden regulars and visiting Motherlodgers. At the center of the evening will be the visual work of artist Michael Arthur and a film showing with improvised score by Ray Rizzo (Motherlodge, Dawn Landes and The Hounds, Days Of The New), Sam Cohen (Yellowbirds, Apollo Sunshine), Malcolm Gold (Days Of The New, Sheryl Crow) and others.
Scheduled to jam are: Sam Cohen, Tyrone Cotton, Alanna Fugate, Malcolm Gold, Dan Hardin, J.P. Lebangood, Erin Lennox, Scott Mertz, Ray Rizzo, Ron Whitehead and maybe Pee Wee.
Goodbye Blue Monday is free, but the hat will be passed to collect a suggested $5 for the artists.

Motherlodge 2011 Fundraiser at Joe’s Pub NYC – Monday, January 17th
On January 17th, 2011 Motherlodge will hold its first ever fundraiser at the historic Joe’s Pub in Manhattan. The evening will kick off Motherlodge’s 2011 Online Auction to raise money for the touring presenting organization’s 2011 program, which will take place in New York City, Louisville, and points in between. Since 2009 Motherlodge has featured writers, creators and performers from the worlds of theater, music, culinary and visual arts, placing an emphasis on collaborations that enrich the communities where Motherlodges occur. The Joes Pub show will feature artists who have participated in Motherlodges, and the event will be streamed live over the internet at motherlodge.com through Motherlodge’s partnership with livestream.com.
Scheduled to appear are David Amram, Michael Arthur, Tom Burnett, Michael Cerveris, Tyrone Cotton, Doveman, Alanna Fugate, Josh Kaufman, Lady Rizo, Scott Mertz, Erin Lennox, Little Silver, Lucas Papaelias, Penny Arcade, Adam Rapp, Dred Scott, Michael Shannon, Chef Timothy Tucker, and Ron Whitehead.
The online auction will continue after the 17th at motherlodge.com,
featuring donated items from the live arts communities of both New York City and Louisville, KY.
General Admission tickets for this event are $20.00. $50.00 VIP tickets are also available, which include preferred seating, a gift bag with artworks from Motherlodge artists, and special culinary morsels prepared by Chef Timothy Tucker.
