<div>The Motherlodge Live Arts Exchange commences in Louisville March 26 and</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">culminates with a long weekend of collaborations between New York and</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Kentucky-based musicians, actors, photographers, visual artists, and</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">performers.</div>
<div>Every Spring since 2009, Motherlodge has developed live shows with artists and</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">organizations who want to approach their work from a new perspective, explore a</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">new idea or just spend a week in Louisville. Curated by</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">ex-Louisville-now-Brooklyn drummer/artist Ray Rizzo and guest collaborators</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">(for 2012 playwright/actor Eric John Meyer), Motherlodge gathers diverse voices</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">and cultural creatives in cross-disciplinary programs and a community of the</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">moment. This is the Live Arts Exchange.</div>
<div>Spring Motherlodge 2012 events in Louisville KY will include:</div>
<div>- <strong>&#8220;Crawling Between Earth and Heaven&#8221;</strong> Re-imagine Shakespeare&#8217;s &#8220;Hamlet&#8221; as it</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">might have played out in a rural American town in the 1920&#8242;s. Shakespearian</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">actor, educator, (and former Power Ranger) Jason Narvy will develop his</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">original idea for this adaptation in Kentucky during the week with playwright</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Eric John Meyer, Louisville musician Chris &#8220;Roadie&#8221; Rodahaffer and actors and</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">musicians from New York, Louisville and Whitesburg, KY. The premiere of THE</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">HAMLET PROJECT for Spring Motherlodge will be followed with a remounting in New</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">York City for Fall Motherlodge later in 2012.  (Friday March 30 and Saturday</div>

<div id="_mcePaste">- <strong>Lady Rizo “Unescorted”</strong> NYC caburlesque chanteuse Lady Rizo has collaborated</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">with Moby, Yo Yo Ma, Reggie Watts, Amber Martin and Taylor Mac. Her show</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">&#8220;Ordained&#8221; at NYC&#8217;s Joe&#8217;s Pub was one of the Wall Street Journal’s “Top 10</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Shows of 2011.” Lady Rizo returns to Motherlodge to perform a scorching solo</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">set and host closing night.( Solo show: Saturday March 31st at The Rudyard</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Kipling)</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">- <strong>“Obfuscation”</strong> is a performance that transforms the back of a 24&#8243; moving truck</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">into its own unique and intimate venue. Created and performed by <strong>The Truck</strong></div>
<div id="_mcePaste"><strong>Project</strong> (Jean Ann Douglass and Eric John Meyer), &#8220;Obfustication&#8221; explores the</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">crossroads of personal identity and political action, and will play to 16</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">audience members at a time in different Louisville locations throughout</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Motherlodge Week. (* Monday March 26 at Haymarket Whiskey Bar, *Wed. March 28</div>

<div id="_mcePaste">- <strong>An “integrated viewing performance&#8221; of the NCAA Final Four Semi-Finals</strong> is the</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">best description for a brewing collaboration between Louisville Improvisors</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">funnyman Chris Anger, Ray Rizzo, J.P. Lebangood, and other Louisville</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">performance artists and musicians. The game will play on the big screen</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">accompanied by live scoring and improvised interludes. (Saturday March 31st at</div>

<div id="_mcePaste">- <strong>Jim Gavenus</strong> and members of <strong>The Ernest Becker Foundation </strong>will create an</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">opportunity to explore the effects of death upon the human condition through an</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">exhibition of Gavenus’ work photographing people at the moment of their</div>

<div id="_mcePaste">- <strong>“Remember The Dog,” </strong>a new experimental work by New York theater artist</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Colleen Sullivan and co-creators Paola Irun and Alex Borinsky will use chance</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">operation to fuse the physical life of silent film with Chekov’s short story</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">“The Lady With The Dog”.  (Friday and Saturday March 30/31 at The Rudyard</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Kipling)</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">- <strong>Christopher Layer</strong> is a world-acclaimed Uilleann pipist and founder of The New</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Harmony Music Festival (taking place in New Harmony, IN this summer). Chris</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">will perform a set of acoustic music pulling from his original work and Irish</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">and folk traditions and also participate in an open session with Motherlodge</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">musicians. (date and location tba)</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">- Louisville artist and Bellarmine educator <strong>Teresa Mills</strong> will once again</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">present a Pop Up Art Gallery installation in collaboration with other Kentucky</div>

<div id="_mcePaste">- <strong>Motherlodge Closing Night at Headliners Music Hall</strong> will be hosted by <strong>Lady</strong></div>
<div id="_mcePaste"><strong>Rizo</strong> and feature performances by <strong>Corporal </strong>(featuring <strong>Michael Shannon</strong>) and</div>
<div id="_mcePaste"><strong>Steely Danish</strong>, Louisville’s spectacular 11-piece Steely Dan tribute band, who</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">will collaborate with Motherlodge artists on a special closing night set.</div>

<div>Throughout the Spring Motherlodge program, <strong>Long Table Discussions</strong>, a staged</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">discussion concept created by performance artist/educator <strong>Lois Weaver</strong>, will be</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">held to foster dialogues between Motherlodge’s performers and audience. In</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">addition, Motherlodge will stream many of the events online on [1]motherlodgetv</div>
